Like I said on Instagram Live yesterday, I have been inspired to post some plus size holiday outfits even though it’s a tad early!
In case you missed them, make sure you check out Part 1 and Part 2.
So I apologize if you’re thinking, “Can we please just get through October and Halloween before you start talking about Christmas and the holidays?”
Sometimes I just have to go where my creativity takes me…
Outfit Details
Once again, you see the same tartan scarf and red flats I featured in my last Holiday Outfits post. They’re so classic.
So I paired them with a couple of different pieces to create new plus size holiday outfit ideas.
As you can also see, I included some white jeans! As I mentioned before, we’ve thrown out that “no white after Labor Day rule.”
Lately the trend has been to wear white jeans year-round. So don’t stow away your white denim!
But, in case white jeans aren’t your thing, classic denim works just as well!
All of these outfits are virtually the same, the main differences are the color of denim and a green and white striped tee versus a red sweater.
I figure the weather and what’s available in your closet will probably help you decide which works best for you.
Gucci Belts
As I’ve said, I haven’t personally tried the Double G Gucci belts, but they are still the “it” accessory.
Sadly, they aren’t large enough for me. However, they come as large as a size 20 (or 44″ waist)!
See the updated size chart below for choosing the correct size.
Both the thinner Double G Gucci belts and the wider Double G Gucci belts now come up to a size 120! The latter is probably a better choice for jeans depending on your personal preference.
So these belts are accessible to those with larger waists [and much larger wallets]! If they’re not in your budget, here and here are alternatives! Also, check out this Michael Kors belt.
And it probably goes without saying, but wearing no belt is also an option! Do what works for you!

I love the red sweater/tartan scarf outfit! Casual, but festive-that’s exactly how I like to dress during the season-I may even try some white jeans this year! 😉
Sounds great! Thanks, Susan!
YAASSS!!!
These outfits are very cute! I think they are stylish and festive but not over the top!
Thanks!!! 🙂
Love the look of the red shoes! Noticed that all the jeans are still short. Probably a silly question, but do you wear socks? Knee high stockings? Please advise!
Also, Alexa- love your suggestions, but can we please move on from the Gucci belt!! There must be other stylish alternatives!
I go sockless or with a no-show sock.
I love the Gucci belts! As always, any outfit can be worn without a belt. Or even with one of the alternatives I always offer.
Adding the color red for the holidays is a great idea. I have very wide knees and skinny jeans do not look good on me. Do you have any suggestions?
You can always swap a skinny jean for your preferred cut. Any jeans work!
I love most of the outfits. I found the plaid scarf at The Loft outlet and ordered the green striped shirt from J. Crew. The shirt is a very canvas like material so it doesn’t lay nicely. It’s kind of like wearing a burlap sack. I love the look of the outfit and will keep looking for a more flattering shirt. Thank you for the ensemble ideas!
Love this outfit and have purchased the parts and it looks great. My only problem is that the loft scarf is gorgeous, but way too heavy for the south. It will look great with my red coat. Have you by chance run across a Christmassy plaid scarf that’s more lightweight?
Hi Leigh,
I haven’t. It’s hard to find a tartan plaid in a gauzy scarf. 🙁
Cute ideas, but I am SO over everyone thinking that the only color combo appropriate at this time of year is red, green, and white!! What about those of your followers who don’t celebrate THAT particular winter holiday?
How about some red, orange, yellow, green, and brown, for Kwanzaa? Or some blue, silver, and white, for Channuka?
Throw us a bone here, Alexa……its bad enough we’ve had Xmas movies and music in our faces since before Halloween……can’t we get an outfit or two?!
(I know…..I’m an evil witch. It’s Halloween…..it’s MY night! LOL)
