In case you didn’t hear, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is here!  If you’re not familiar, each summer Nordstrom has an amazing sale.  Why so amazing?

Well, Nordstrom marks down brand-spanking-new fall items, including brands that rarely go on sale.  After the sale, prices go back up.

So this sale is a great opportunity to score some fresh items for the upcoming fall season at great prices!  Take a look at this year’s plus size sale items!

Before getting into the outfits, let’s talk about how to shop the sale!

#NSale Sale Access

This year, the #NSale is a little different.   First, the sale will be accessible to some Nordstrom cardholders (“early access”) as of August 4th.

All cardholders will be able to shop the sale by August 13th.  Then the sale opens to the public on August 19th.

Prices go up on August 30th.  And beware, things do sell out quickly!

And as always, remember that Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns all day, every day!

Get a Nordstrom Card to Shop Early

Of course, if you don’t have a Nordstrom card, you can apply for one online right now.

And you don’t have to wait for the card to arrive in the mail to start saving.  You can start shopping the sale as early as August 13th!

Plus, you get $40 to use at Nordy’s at a later date if you use your card the day you are approved!  Woot!

Look 1 Details

This look, like all of the outfits in this post, is essentially a fabulous cardigan with a t-shirt and jeans.  Toss on a scarf to tie everything together.

Of course, I had to add these Burberry cat-eye sunglasses with iconic Burberry check on the sides.  So hot!

Then I saw that these Coach crossbody bags are part of the sale!  Great investment pieces at a great price.

While the David Yurman bracelets aren’t included in the #NSale, the two-tone Tory Burch watch is.  It’s also available in gold.  Two great pieces, each $100 off.

The booties are also on sale.  I love the color!  So rich!

My Favorite Lipsticks

As I’ve said, my favorite lipsticks, which I readily admit are bougie AF and totally break the budget, are these Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here).

There is a set of them (similar) available for the sale.  You get the Nude Sheer shade and Chili Tunique, a brownish red with warm undertones.

This might be a great way to try them out at a discount.  Or if you’re a collector like me, stock up!

They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic.  And I just can’t say enough great things about them!

The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks.  While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

Look 3 Details

Look 3 is a variation of Look 1.  The same exact look except I swapped the Rebecca Minkoff scarf for this printed scarf, which is included in the sale.

As you can see this outfit “formula” can be repeated time and time again!

Look 4

Look 4 is a play on Look 3, just swapped the skinny jeans for some faux leather leggings.

I then swapped out the booties to black and the Coach bag to black.  (I especially love the contrast stitching on the Coach bag in black.)

Same formula, easy peasy!

Plus Size Faux Leather Leggings

These plus size faux leather leggings (here or here) are very well-reviewed with 4.5/5 stars.

It’s not surprising, considering they’re made by Spanx and offer the control that anyone can use when wearing a legging! 

Some reviewers even reported that these leggings “hid” their cellulite.  What!?!

Sizing

They run a little small, but keep in mind, much like Spanx shapewear undergarments, they will be a pain in the a$$ to put on but that’s what you need to keep everything snatched!

They are a support level 2, which is mid-range for Spanx, which offer 3 levels of support.

So, you’ll want them to be tight.  Something to think about when you’re evaluating the fit.

Also, you should probably size up, especially if you are apple-shaped.  If you experience any rolling down at the waist, getting the next size up should fix that.
