Wearing Linen

Stay chic yet comfortable with linen.

The featured plus size white wide leg pants are 100% linen. 

Linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather. That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend will wrinkle less. 

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less.  But, I say, just let it go!

The Tank Top

As for the top, I opted for a modern shape.  This Good American tank  has padded shoulders.

Totally on-trend.  And this fashion-forward style will look especially good on pear shapes.

Good American sizing can be a little confusing.

A quick reference: size 4 = 14/16, 5 = 18/20, 6 = 22/24, 7 = 26, 8 = 28.  You can find GA’s size chart here.

Of course, if you’re not into this style, any white tank or tee will do!

Shoes and Accessories

Keeping with the theme of comfortable chic, I added flat sandals. 

But, of course, they’re a trendy snake print in a trendy style: square-toed slides.

Another resort staple, the wide brim straw fedora will protect you from the sun.

Actually, this fedora is handmade in Mexico from palm leaves.

Obviously, I had to throw in some beach-appropriate designer accoutrements.

These Celine sunnies beautifully make a statement.  As for jewelry, stick with gold classics.

And while I wouldn’t bring this Saint Laurent linen tote with leather handles too close to the actual ocean, I would rock this luxurious bag at most ocean-adjacent locations.

I also found some great alternatives.

Lipstick

Finish off your look with a nude lip, like “Nude Lavalliere” from YSL. 

As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks are my favorite lipsticks. 

I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget.  But they are amazing!

They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic. 

Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one, to display them.

And I just can’t say enough great things about them!
