I think we’re all wearing a lot of loungewear and athleisure these days.  Or at least I know I am!

So when I agreed to create this sponsored post with Nordstrom I thought it might be nice to show a variety of mix and match easy pieces in a “mini capsule” format.

I also wanted to show that even though we’re all about the sweatpants-life, we can still look put together and elevated with just a bit of styling.

Plus, as always in my loungewear posts, I show you how to take a look from binge-watching the latest season of “Money Heist” on your couch to out-the-door lookin’ like a hot mutha with just a few accessory changes!

Nordstrom Made Brands – Zella

Many of the featured pieces in this capsule are from Nordstrom’s in-house brand Zella.

Zella makes activewear that in my personal experience and feedback given by my readers is comfy, cozy, and high quality.

Plus Size Wrap Jacket Outfits – Out & About

Zella also makes this wrap jacket, which is so chic!  

Wear this jacket out and about with the aforementioned Zella “Live In” high waist leggings.  Or if you really want to take your look up a notch, try some faux leather leggings.

I topped the leggings with a white t-shirt which has a curved high/low hem, making it a great option to wear with leggings.  This tee is 29.5″ long.

Choosing Sneakers

Now let’s make it interesting.  Throw on some “elevated” sneakers.

As I’ve said, when rocking the athleisure trend, sneakers should be intentional. 

By that I mean if you wear your everyday gym sneakers or the dirty old tennis shoes that you wear to walk the dog, you’re going to look like a hot mess.

Aside from being clean and in good condition, your sneakers should be “elevated.”

Opt for a pair of retro classics like these Adidas Superstar sneakers.  These kicks are unisex so they’re a good option if you have wide feet.

Or choose some trendy sneakers like these Adidas Swift Run in leopard.

Also, remember you’ll want to go sockless or wear no show socks.

Jewelry

For jewelry, I wanted some trendy and edgy pieces. 

This long Y-necklace is a great choice.  It really makes a statement and you can adjust the length.

Layer it with more simple silver chain necklaces, including this tusk necklace.  Hot!

Then I chose some uber-trendy ear crawlers and a chain link bangle.

Accessories

Would it be an outfit I styled without a designer bag?  Probably not.  Lol.

Add a Saint Laurent Lou Mini in black. 

As you can see I opted for the Lou Mini with silver hardware to coordinate with the jewelry. 

You will later see the standard size Lou with gold hardware with other outfits in this collection.

Is that necessary?  Absolutely not.  Am I gonna be extra anyway?  Of course.

But, I did find some great alternatives that are less expensive linked below.

Top the look with black aviator sunglasses and a black beanie as needed.

And lastly, add some on-trend drama with a matte deep crimson lip with Nars’ “Fire Down Below.”

Plus Size Staying In Outfits

Now let’s take that same outfit idea but make it lounge-friendly.  

First, swap the sneakers for some cozy slippers.

If I’m trying to be comfortable but look bomb, I might leave on some simple jewelry.

So remove jewelry as desired. 

Little Luxuries

As I always do in my loungewear posts, I threw in some “little luxuries” that make relaxing at home so much more pleasant!

So I included a beautiful Voluspa candle.  I know I’ve talked about Voluspa candles on this blog a lot. 

But, I really think they’re a great quality line of candles that come in beautiful packaging.  Look at those ornate glass jars! 

I haven’t tried the featured Panjore Lychee scent, but the Goji Tarocco Orange is one of my top 5 varieties of Voluspa.

I also added some Jo Malone perfume.  The English Pear & Freesia scent “captures the essence of autumn.”

Although it’s a fruity fragrance, the added patchouli makes it really unique and unexpected.

And I included a nourishing lip treatment.  I love that it adds some shine while it’s softening and plumping the lips!

Blue Light Blocking Glasses

I also included these blue light blocking glasses.

If you haven’t heard of this latest “trend,” these types of glasses block the blue light that comes from screens. 

They are supposed to help prevent eye-strain, headaches, and other ill-effects of staring at screens all day.

Blue light can also affect your circadian rhythm. 

If you are using screens (tv, computer, phone, etc) at night, theoretically, the blue light, which signals it’s daytime to your brain, can cause delayed sleep and insomnia. 

That is my main reason for trying blue light blocking glasses.

I work late at night and have always struggled with my circadian rhythm.  I will try anything that might help.

So far, I think they do reduce my eye-strain and I have noticed fewer issues falling asleep. 

I can’t say it is definitively the glasses, but they can’t hurt.

Wrap Jacket Outfit – Staying In

Plus Size Moto Jacket Outfits

These plus size athleisure looks are the same basic “formula” as the first two.

I took same the infamous high quality Zella “Live In” high waist leggings.

And again I paired them with the same white tee with a curved high/low hem. 

This plus size t-shirt is a great option to wear with leggings as it is 29.5″ long.

But this time, for the “third piece” I chose a genuine leather “biker” or moto jacket.

If you prefer faux leather, here is a great option.

And for those in warmer climates, this lightweight cotton version is a great alternative.

Lastly, just like the first outfit ideas, I chose some amazing sneakers: the classic Adidas Superstar sneakers and the trendy Adidas Swift Run in leopard.

Don’t forget these are to be worn sockless or with no show socks.

Accessories

Once again the accessories make these outfits stand out.

For jewelry, I chose some trendy lightweight yet large gold hoop earrings.

And a set of three link goldtone bracelets.

As I said above, I “matched” the handbag hardware to the jewelry.  So in this case, I chose the YSL Lou with gold hardware.

But again, I also linked to some less expensive options below.

Aviators are always a great choice for sporty or athleisure looks.  This time I chose some with gold frames with silver mirrored lenses.

And again, add a black beanie for cold weather and/or 90s flavor.

But the scarves really make each outfit different.  Go bold with the black and white stripes of this lightweight scarf.

Or keep things low key with a lightweight solid color grey scarf.

Oh and don’t forget to add a trendy bold lip with Nars’ “Fire Down Below.”

Plus Size Moto Jacket Outfits – All About Scarves

This time I swapped the sneakers for some ankle boots.  These booties are totally on-trend with some lug soles.  They run small so consider going a half size up.

If you need wide width, check these out.

And I loved all of these scarves so much that I couldn’t choose.  So any and all of these scarves would look great with these outfits.

Plus Size Athleisure Outfits – Grey Tunic Sweatshirt

Once again starting with the high-quality Zella “Live In” high waist leggings.

Topping with a plus size tunic-length sweatshirt.  And this sweatshirt has pockets!

But if you’re looking for something more lightweight, here is a grey tunic t-shirt.

As for the sneakers and accessories, they’re the same as the last group of outfit ideas.  After all this is a capsule in which you can mix and match the pieces as desired.

The only additional item is the layered gold necklace.  I like it with the grey sweatshirt but obviously, it would go with the white tee as well.

Plus Size Grey Tunic Sweatshirt Loungewear

Just like the last lounging look, I swapped the sneakers for some cozy slippers.

Remove the jewelry as needed. 

And of course, add some “little luxuries” such as blue light blocking glasses, perfume, and a lip treatment.

Plus Size Grey Tunic Sweatshirt & Faux Leather Leggings

If you wanna make your outfit really hot, opt for some plus size faux leather leggings when leaving the house.

The faux leather leggings can be worn with either of the sneakers in this capsule or the ankle booties.

And you can add any of the featured scarves as desired.
