Plus Size Balletcore Outfits

Two plus size balletcore outfits, both are the same look but, one is sleeveless and one has short sleeves.

This look is trendy and versatile and can work for casual outings or a daytime wedding.

By the way, you might remember me discussing the “balletcore” trend in this post

Or in this Instagram video.

Plus Size Balletcore Outfits - A plus size outfit with wrap skirt, bodysuit, ballet flats, and crystal jewelry by Alexa Webb. This look is trendy and versatile and should work for casual outings or a daytime wedding.

Outfit Details

A ruffled wrap maxi skirt is the star here.

It is in a beautiful on-trend taupe color.

I would wear it high, like an empire waist with a nude or brown bodysuit.

As I mentioned, the first look includes a “tank” style sleeveless bodysuit and the second includes a cap sleeve bodysuit.

But, if you don’t like the bodysuit idea, a tank or tee will work too.

Sticking to the “balletcore” theme, I added some nude ballet flats.

Pro tip: add a nude heeled sandal to dress it up.

A designer inspired bag in a bone color and ivory square sunglasses keeps the look trendy.

And then pile on some cubic zirconia or crystal jewelry, like these long and linear earrings for some glam.

Luxury Lipstick

I thought I’d also mention the featured lipstick is my favorite.

I know you have probably already heard me go on and one about these, but they’re fantastic!

Yes, they’re bonkers expensive and no one “needs” them, ever.

But, they’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic.

Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one, to display them.

And I just can’t say enough great things about them!

The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks

While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

Perfume

Now make sure you smell as expensive as you look!

I included Chanel’s Gabrielle, which is such a “rich” floral fragrance.

If it’s over your budget, I highly recommend you try the Dossier version.

I tried this perfume brand, Dossier.

I ordered a bunch of their scents.  And so far, I love them!

I own their “Floral Ylang Ylang,” which is inspired by Chanel’s Gabrielle.

Oh la la!  An amazing luxury scent at a fraction of the price!

  1. I love your site but I have to chime in on this trend for plus size women. I’m just not sure it would be complimentary being so tight and unstructured. I truly love how feminine it is!! Are there any other balletcore outfits that might be more structured and supportive for plus size women.

  2. Lovely outfits. I love balletcore. Reminds me of my ballet dancing years many, many moons ago. I think, though, that I’d need to DO some ballet for a while first. Somehow not being anorexic and wearing a leotard still does’t feel comfortable to me. Not that I was ever anorexic when I was taking ballet lessons, but it certainly was encouraged. And I didn’t feel comfortable in the leotards back then.

Still – I love these and will try to find some way to use this style in the future. And I guess I need to work on body positivity too.

You’re still putting together wonderful outfits!!
    Many thanks!

    1. Thanks, Betsy. I think many women can pull off this look. For me, I would wear the skirt high-waisted with some Spanx under it for extra support. If you love something, try to have an open mind and give it a go. You never know! 🙂

      1. Yes, I agree that there are many plus size women who could love these outfits. But I couldn’t wear ballet core back when I was doing ballet. My cup size was too big to be able to do pirouettes without eventually tipping forward. 😄
I do love the color pallet and mixture of smooth and ruffled. So I saved this one to adapt to my shape.
        Btw – you rock!
