A plus size black ballet core outfit that you can wear nearly anywhere.
Is it “ballet core” or “balletcore?” Google results were a mixed bag, so dealer’s choice.
Anyway, this plus size outfit is all about the continuing ballet core trend.
By the way, you might remember me discussing the “balletcore” trend in this post or this post.
Or in this Instagram video.
Plus Size Black Ballet Core Outfit
The Ballet Core Trend
This trend is all about soft fabrics, romantic details, and pastel colors.
But I went rogue here and went all black. (Gasp!)
Anyway, think: bodysuits, leggings, tulle skirts, and ballet flats.
Even if you’re not into trends, this one is really easy to incorporate to any type of look.
For example, just throw on some ballet flats with with some leggings and a tunic.
And you’re suddenly “on trend.”
Go here for more tips.

Outfit Details
This outfit idea is great for a night out, but I also think you could wear it to the office, or even a casual day outing.
I started with a feminine plus size pleated skirt in black.
Side note: take an extra 10% off the skirt and the cardi and even your entire purchase with code: ALEXAWEBB10.
I topped it with a “true” wrap open-weave cardigan. Love this!
Although I don’t show it, I would advise layering this wrap cardi over a black tank or camisole. Or even a bodysuit.
The point is, you want a little skin peeking through to achieve a more delicate and “ballet” look.
Accessories
Mary Jane flats might be the hottest shoe of the season. They are every where!
And silver is the hottest shoe color of the year, in my personal opinion.
We’re talking trends on trends on trends here.
FYI, these silver ballet flats also come in wide width. Yes!
Of course, I had to add a bougie and “girly” bag, so I went with the iconic Antigona satchel.
I love a top handle for a truly femme look.
I chose the mini size, which can also be worn with a crossbody strap.
As for shades, I love the classic Celine square/cat-eye sunglasses.
I have the more affordable yet similar ones from Amazon and love them.
Jewelry
I’m not going to lie, I struggled a bit with choosing some jewelry for this look.
Sculptural jewelry is hot right now, but would be too “heavy” for this look.
I wanted to add more femininity, so this layered necklace seemed like a good choice.
And although the hoop earrings and the bracelets are cubic zirconia, they are understated enough for most occasions.
I would probably swap the hoops out for CZ studs if going to the office.
Lastly, a set of stackable rings is a great pick.
Lip Gloss Stick
I am heartbroken that my favorite lipstick that I have endlessly talked about has been discontinued.
[Why YSL? Why?!?!}
So I finally tried YSL’s Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Sticks.
And yes, they are awesome!
It looks like a lip gloss, but has more staying power without the “stickiness” that I hate in long-lasting glosses.
But most importantly, they are moisturizing. I mean like decadent moisture!
They are made with mango oil, vitamin E, pomegranate extract, and hyaluronic acid.
And they smell similar to the Rouge Volupté Shine, my discontinued faves, which is amazing!
Point is, I think I may have found a new favorite.
Oh, and if you didn’t already realize this, these lippies are insanely expensive.
I will be hunting for some good dupes for you, so stay tuned…
Perfume
I picked up a bottle of La vie est belle Eau de Parfum by Lancôme during Prime Day.
And oh la la! Do I love it!
It’s feminine but strong. And I love it for cooler weather.
But, if it’s over your budget or you just want to try it “guilt free,” perhaps try Dossier’s “Gourmand Orange Blossom.”
As I have mentioned many times, I have tried several of Dossier’s scents and think they are fantastic for a fraction of the price.
