Although comprised mainly of wardrobe staples, these outfits are anything but basic!
I took this plus size black twist top from Kiyonna, a favorite of mine, and styled it two ways.
The first look is casual and the second for date nights. But I have also worn the top to work as well.
Why is this plus size black twist top a favorite of mine?
For one, it is super flattering. The cut is fantastic for apple shapes or anyone who looks good in empire waists.
It has a V-neck that is just the right depth to be flattering, but offers enough coverage that you can wear this top to the office.
So no need to layer a cami under for “cleavage coverage” (at least not for me, who is large, but this could be dependent on your bust size).
For two, this plus size black twist top has elbow length sleeves!
Personally, I rock an elbow length sleeve year round, layering as necessary. It is just the perfect length sleeve for me, giving me upper-arm coverage in the summer, yet long enough to look weather-appropriate in the spring and fall.
Then I top with a blazer or cardigan as needed.
And lastly, this plus size black twist top is a soft rayon with stretch and doesn’t cling.
It just flows everywhere I want it to. However, one drawback of the fabric is that it suggested that you hand wash it in cold water and lay flat to dry.
But, just between us (shhh), I have washed it in the washing machine on the “hand wash delicate” setting with cold water and Woolite Dark. It was okay, but obviously it will decrease the lifetime of the top.
So I don’t endorse this method, as your washer might destroy it, but I thought I would share in case you’re a lazy laundry risk-taker like me. But I would never put it in the dryer (I don’t dry any tops in the dryer, ever).
