I styled this amazing plus size blush blazer two ways using one of my favorite “formulas:” blazer + white top + jeans.
You just can’t go wrong with this combination. It’s a winner every time.
And you can change up the “vibe” with variations of the formula, for example a white t-shirt for running errands versus a white button-down for casual Friday at the office.
You can also dramatically change the look with different shoes and accessories.
I think it goes without saying that this is also a great blazer for work.
Use a similar formula: blazer + white blouse or button-down + neutral-color trousers. Or get creative and rock some polka dots or windowpane plaid!

Plus Size Blush Blazer {2 Ways}
The top in this first plus size blush blazer outfit probably looks familiar as I used it in another outfit idea post here.
I love the style and I think empire waists are flattering for many body types, especially apples. I mention this because I often hear: “Tops like that make me look pregnant.”
I have a similar argument about this issue as Melissa of Suger Coat It does in her blog post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?” regarding plus size women avoiding stripes. She says, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat. And you know what, that’s okay.”
Like I said in my post about styling apple shaped bodies, “I can easily look pregnant in a flattering empire waist tunic or skin-tight bodycon dress, because that is just my shape. I have a big tummy like a pregnant woman. It happens! But I am going to look better in the empire waist tunic than the bodycon dress. And to me, that’s what matters.”
So, my argument is that chances are a top isn’t really making you look pregnant, your body shape is likely what is making you look pregnant. And I don’t mean that to sound insensitive. I have had people ask me pointblank, in public, if I was pregnant. Once someone asked “when is your due date?” These were painful experiences and I will go into my thoughts on that rudeness and resiliency, just not today.
Side note: I was about to write A LOT about this “flattering” vs “not-caring-about flattering” issue within the plus size and body positive communities. But, I wanted to get this post put up and apparently I have more to say about it than I realized! I spent literal hours getting my thoughts together and ran out of time. So, I am going to put a pin in it for the moment. I will create a different post to get my thoughts out to you and hopefully when I do you can tell me your thoughts and we can start a dialogue! Until then, enjoy the outfits in this post…

As an apple who has also been asked about being pregnant, I have found that empire tops with gathers all the way around are fine, but those with just a few gathers at the front tend to make my belly more noticeable. A subtle difference that makes a BIG difference! I LOVE this blazer and am adding a blush blazer to my fall wish list!
Thank you for the evening look. I bought a blush pink blazer a few months ago but had no idea what to do with it. You always show beautiful ideas that don’t break the bank.
What a gorgeous blazer! The color and the details are perfection. I added myself to the notification list and have all the fingers crossed that they restock it!
