My last plus size on a budget outfit was such a hit that I decided to continue the series. But, before I get into the details of this “plus size budget outfit,” I want to explain why I have a disclaimer below. In the past, I received a lot of negative feedback regarding what constitutes “budget.” So to hopefully prevent some of that, I am adding this “disclaimer” to all the posts in this series. If you’ve already seen it, just skip to the outfit deets!
Plus Size on a Budget – My “Disclaimer”
Please keep these things in mind:
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses while for other people $300 is their entire clothing budget for the year.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.
So now that we have that disclaimer out of the way, let’s get into it!

Plus Size on a Budget Outfit – The Deets
If you’re a regular reader, you know I love jeans. I wear jeans all. the. time. And I love to wear jeans when headed out for the night, be it to dinner, drinks, karaoke, or any nightlife fun! Sadly, for me, nights out are sort of few and far between these days, but working on that! Anyway, if I were to put together a fun night out outfit on a budget, this would be it.
Although, I would more likely rock a top like this than a bodysuit, I think that the lace bodysuit is gorgeous and an amazing price! UPDATE: Apparently everyone else and their mother also thought this was an amazing bodysuit and it sold out before I could even get this post up! Sigh.
So rather than scrapping this post, I tried to come up with some alternatives. I tried to find pieces that were $30 or less, some of which are on sale (so they may not be that low of a price once the sale ends), and a couple went just a little over budget.
Plus Size Lace Bodysuit Alternatives
Hopefully you were able to find an adorable inexpensive “going out” bodysuit in the alternatives above!
Makeup on a Budget
And lastly, I wanted to mention the makeup. The eyeshadow palette, “The City Mini Palette x Shayla” is highly rated and raved about on YouTube. I think it is a great “go to” palette for nights out because you can easily do a smoky eye or a glittery golden look with just this palette. Plus, it’s pretty inexpensive! Go here to see tutorials on how to use the palette.
If you want to see a post dedicated to my makeup recommendations, please let me know in the comments. I would LOVE to give you more recommendations as I am probably more obsessed with makeup than I am with clothes, seriously, imagine that!
