A summer athleisure outfit idea for my “plus size on a budget series!”
Plus Size on a Budget – Summer Athleisure
My “Disclaimer”
I want to prevent some anticipated feedback. So please keep these things in mind:
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.

Outfit Details
This monochromatic athleisure outfit is perfect for summer lounging and running errands.
Start with some basic plus size black leggings and an ombre tank top, which I love!
Top the look with a black jacket as needed.
And finish with some basic white sneakers.
Accessories & Jewelry
When going out, throw on this plus size bum bag.
This bag can be worn across the chest or on the waist and has an adjustable strap that accommodates up to 61″.
Top the look with some silver aviator sunglasses and silver tone hoop earrings.
And I love the look of this sculptural silver ring made by one of my favorite inexpensive jewelry brands, Pavoi.

Beauty
Of course I had to throw in some great inexpensive beauty products.
Starting with this 4.3/5 star rated hydrating lip oil with a hint of color.
Next I added Dossier’s “Ambery Vanilla” which is inspired by YSL’s “Black Opium.”
FYI, I had Dossier on my “to try” list for quite some time.
I ordered a bunch of their scents. And I love them!
Someone asked me about their longevity.
In my opinion, they last as long as the fragrances they are inspired by.
Yasssss! An amazing luxurious scent at a fraction of the price!
