A new outfit for my “plus size on a budget series!”
This time I’m bringing you a plus size camo dress outfit.
As you may have noticed, my last post was also about camo. What can I say? It’s a mood.
My “Disclaimer”
I want to prevent some anticipated feedback. So please keep these things in mind:
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.
More Outfit Details
This sporty look is totally comfortable for summer. Just lose the denim jacket on hot days.
You really can’t go wrong with a t-shirt dress.
Add your favorite sandals or some platform sneakers.
Accessorize with a baseball cap and a trendy camera crossbody bag.
For jewelry, try some thick hoop earrings. These are lightweight despite their size.
And layer some chain on your neck and wrists.
Be a bit extra and throw on some anklets. All the cool kids are doing it!

Camo is just not my style.
I am an apple shape with thick legs. Do l get the dress in my tee shirt size or go up one to disguise my midsection? Buying clothes online now, returns are a hassle and so disappointing. Thanks for your help. Love all the outfit inspiration!
Hi Vicki,
That is tough to say. Mainly because you want the dress to fit in the shoulders. So, I would recommend getting your usual size, unless you are a size larger in the waist or hips. I’m sorry, I know that’s probably not too helpful. But, to be honest, you would be better finding a swing style t-shirt dress. Something with this shape. That is going to conceal a tummy much better.
You can find more tips in my apples post.
Hi Alexa,
It’s so kind of you to reply, your advice is very much appreciated!! I am a “new” apple and short-waisted besides, still learning to dress to emphasize my considerable “assets” and de-poof my tummy. Thanks again!! ?
Vicki,
I just came across this dress which might be a good choice for you!
Thank you, it even has pockets!! ?
Love, Love, Love the way you put the prices right on the images! Like this outfit so so much too!
Thank you! ♥
Wow I like the way you put the outfits together.
And put the prices like
that. That is so much better .
.
Thanks, Veronica!
I’m a very hip senior (62) &
love the look. I will pull that together;)
Thanks, Lisa!
Do not order the boohoo dress!! I did and it is horrible! It’s basically a man’s t-shirt. So bad!
Thanks for the feedback, Renee. That is really the look the kids are wearing these days… it doesn’t flatter many people. 🙁
Did you see the ON Dress I recently added? I think it will be flattering for a lot of women!
