A casual spring outfit for my “plus size on a budget series!”
Plus Size on a Budget – Casual Spring Outfit
My “Disclaimer”
I want to prevent some anticipated feedback. So please keep these things in mind:
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.
Outfit Details
I love these colors together!
An aqua blue cable knit sweater looks amazing with a lime woven tote.
A classic piece with a trendy piece.
Add some bootcut jeans in a lighter wash.
Gold loafers or mocs are a great addition to the look.
Lastly, I added one of my favorite bracelets that fits my slightly-wider-than-average wrist.
And it looks so much more expensive than it is!

Cute outfit, I am looking for ideas for warm weather. I am short and older with a bit of tummy. I looked at pictures of myself and noticed my legs aren’t my best feature, plus I have had knee surgery since whose pictures were taken, so I am looking for ideas. I am not that vain that I how my legs look but maybe lighter weight and lighter color jeans might be ok to wear this summer in hot weather when I am out and about. Open to all ideas!
Try linen pants.
I just bought this sweater in green. I’ve been buying JCPenneys St John’s Bay sweaters and tees for years and they fit better and last longer than other high end versions. I found them true to size.
I love the loafers!! I bought them in an orange shade and they are so comfortable and cute! Great recommendation- I have wide feet and they are perfect.
Awesome!
