These plus size summer outfits are all about the accessories! While I show this adorable plus size eyelet peplum top in the images below, any white tank or tee will do! I just liked the “sweetness” of the eyelet with a little ruffle.
Side note: these are currently my favorite plus size tees (in the US).
Once you’ve decided on your top, next, add your favorite denim for the summer. Any denim will do, be it cutoff Bermudas, capris, or your favorite jeggings. You really can’t go wrong. Basically, this is “T-shirt & Jeans v2.0.” And you can take the look to that next level, “2.0,” by layering in some bright and trendy accessories.
The Formula
As you can see, I created two looks, but used the same “formula:” A long tassel necklace in bright colors. A bold statement earring. Yes, double down! An interesting summery clutch in straw or jute. Add your own pompoms if need be! And lastly, some boho rings, like a large turquoise stone ring or a medallion ring.
Any boho-ish sandals will do. I chose these adorable platform espadrille sandals, but your flat gladiators or Birkenstocks will work just as well!

So which version do you like better? I’ve been obsessing over the earrings in Look 1, so that might be my first choice. But, then again, I might need the clutch in Look 2. I want them all, story of my life!

Do you think this shirt would look funny with the wide-leg crop jeans you posted a few days ago? I’m loving those jeans, but don’t feel comfortable wearing a tight/tucked shirt. Perhaps the wide-leg style isn’t for me.
Hey Kristin,
If you really love it, it might be worth a try! I think if it were just slightly shorter, it would be better.
I love the look of the wide-leg cropped styles, but just not for me. Lol. But, I always want to encourage my readers to try new things, but I also want to be completely honest. And this particular trend is quite challenging to pull off without looking “stumpy.”
So bottom line, if you like the look of the wide-legs, please try them! Experiment and see if you can find a way to make them work for you! 🙂
Awesome, thanks for your honesty! I have a sinking feeling it would look odd on me. Thanks again!
