A plus size grey striped sweater outfit with crystal embellished loafers for a little bling bling.
Plus Size Grey Striped Sweater Outfit
Life is Short, Wear Stripes
I often hear “Should plus size people wear stripes?”
If you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It.
She explains, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat. And you know what, that’s okay.”
I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes.
Outfit Details
I love unexpected details, like these gorg crystal embellished loafers with this classic and preppy outfit.
Start with a plus size rugby stripe sweater atop a classic white button-down shirt.
Layer them over a pair of demi-boot crop jeans in a medium wash.
These cute on-trend jeans are from J.Crew.
J.Crew Sizing
In case you haven’t heard, J.Crew now has many items in plus sizes up to a size 24 or 3X.
Their sizing is comparable to Lane Bryant.
One thing to note is that some of their pants and jeans come by waist sizing (vanity), so check the size chart below to see which size you are.
Accessories
Top the look with some oversized square sunglasses in grey.
Throw on a grey suede crossbody bag.
Some crystal ball stud earrings compliment the crystal loafers.
The load the wrists with some two-tone bracelets and a watch.

Just ordered the shoes and sweater, I am so excited!!! Besides jeans, what color of pants would you choose to wear with this outfit?
Ps. Love your style!
Thank you! I think you could also wear light grey, charcoal grey, khaki/olive green, mauve, blush pink, or even lavender with this look. Icy or muted pastels.
