As I’ve said, these “Straight Size to Plus Size” posts are some of my most popular, but I also get complaints that the “models” in the images aren’t “plus sized.”

So I just wanted to give a little background of why I do these types of posts:

We are all inundated every day by images of thin celebrities, models, and bloggers sporting the “latest looks,” i.e. clothing that doesn’t come in our size.

So I try to take these “unattainable” images and prove that, in fact, with some effort, plus size women can put these hot looks together.  

They are attainable!

And I try to take the effort, i.e. searching everywhere for the pieces, out of the equation.  

So as always, my main goal is to inspire and empower.

Ok, now back to the outfit ideas!

Monochromatic Outfit Ideas

I chose two monochromatic Megan Markle looks to “convert” to plus size.

And for the first look, I was inspired to create two ideas: one with a dress and one with a suit.

All of these looks are monochromatic.  You can read about wearing monochromatic outfits here.

Outfit 1 Details

The first outfit idea is closest to what Ms. Markle is actually wearing: a long brown dress and a brown blazer.

She is clearly wearing a long turtleneck dress, but I couldn’t find one that is currently available.

I think this brown dress is quite similar.

I’m not sure if she is wearing black or dark brown heels, either will work with this look.

I chose some black suede pumps, but work with what you’ve got in your closet.

Outfit 2 Details

I wanted to adapt this dress and blazer Meghan Markle outfit idea to make it a bit more practical.

So I decided to pair a chocolate brown turtleneck with a light brown suit.

This is easily something you can wear to work!

Add a small huggie hoop earring and some pumps.

Again, I opted for black pumps, but any brown or nude heels will also work.

Outfit 3 Details

Although this Meghan Markle outfit idea is from 2020, I think it is timeless.

She wears a chocolate brown slip skirt with a brown turtleneck and camel coat.
