Plus size muted pastel outfit ideas, one with plus size white jeans and the other with white jean shorts. Both looks feature this muted blush taupe-y colored tank top. I love the smocking detail which should look great on those looking to flatter their tummies and/or are apple-shaped.
As usual, top with a denim jacket as needed. Throw on a slouchy tote. I chose this one in gunmetal. And finish the look with some grey espadrilles. These are all classic pieces that can be used in so many different ways!
Rose Gold Accessories
Next, add some rose gold accessories, like a rose gold watch, iridescent stud earrings, and a set of rings. I love mixing rose gold metal with blush pinks, taupes, and muted pastels. And for the win, throw on some gold and pink mirrored aviator sunglasses.
Pillow Talk Lipstick
Lastly, I also included one of my favorite lipsticks. The iconic Charlotte Tilbury “Pillow Talk,” which is a universally flattering nude. It’s matte but not drying what so ever. And it’s also a great choice for overlining your lips since it is such a natural color.
Charlotte (I say that like we’re close personal friends, ha!) also recently came out with a darker shade for medium and deeper skin tones and an “intense” shade for even deeper skin tones.
But, if it’s out of your price range, Mac’s Cosmo and NYX’s Euro Trash are supposed to be great alternatives for Pillow Talk.

This next look is the same as the first, only I chose a cropped denim jacket and white jean shorts this time. Even better for hotter weather!

Was browsing the Catherine’s website this morning and realized that everything on their website was marked final sale. I checked with the customer service rep and discovered that not only are the brick and mortar stores closing but they are ceasing online sales as well. This is very distressing since I buy the majority of my clothing from Catherine’s. When I read the chapter 11 announcement it said it was going to become part of City Chic. Very nice selection of clothing there but they stop at size 28. I wear a 4 x, 30 sometimes a 32 depending upon cut. I am 5’ 10 and came to terms with wearing a 30 inch inseam pant. Catherine’s clothes were the best fit I found for a very long time. Lane Bryant, and Avenue are cut short in all around fit (sleeve length, inseam and garment length). This is going to be a challenge trying to find decent quality stylish clothing for a professional woman. What’s a girl to do. It’s just become 1975 all over again!
Any leads on shopping are greatly appreciated…Woman Within and Roamans are not going to cut it for me. Thanks for your blog! You have given me the confidence to find style…now I just need a new source for the clothing in my size.
Hi Dodi,
I know the pain! It’s so sad to lose one of the limited options we have! City Chic also recently bought Avenue, so I wouldn’t completely count them out yet in terms of sizing. As for recommendations for size 30, I like Torrid. I know a lot of people think they are overpriced and/or “juvenile” in style. But, I think they have a really great selection of things that with the right eye are totally workable. And they frequently have 30% – 40% off sales, not to mention their loyalty program where you can get things (essentially) for 50%+ off with Torrid Dollars. I also think their sizing is generous and they typically offer 5 inseams in their jeans and professional pants. FYI, I feature them on the blog often.
I am also a big fan of Yours Clothing. They go up to a size 38 in most pieces, and to a 34 in nearly all of their collection. You will also find the length of their tops to be perfection! They are based in the UK, so the real downside is the $10 shipping. But, if you know your correct size it is worth it.
Another recommendation is eShakti. If you’re going to make a purchase with them, I recommend spending the extra $ to customize and custom size. You will be SHOCKED at how well things fit and how well they are made, especially at their prices! The only downside is they are based in India and typically it takes a couple of weeks to get your order (or at least I safely assume that, especially with COVID).
Lastly, check out the “Above Size 24” section of my shopping guide for more ideas on where to try!
I love the way you put together entire outfits from jewelry to shoes to perfume!!
