But before I get into outfit details, I want to talk about the 2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

2021 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Each summer Nordstrom has an amazing sale!  Why so amazing?

Well, Nordstrom marks down brand-spanking-new fall items, including brands that rarely go on sale.  After the sale, prices go back up.

So this sale is a great opportunity to score some fresh items for the upcoming fall season at great prices!  Take a look at this year’s plus size sale items!

And as always, remember that Nordstrom offers free shipping and free returns all day, every day!

Key Dates

Early Access is a special perk reserved for Nordstrom cardmembers.

Your Nordy Club level is based on yearly spend amounts, though all cardmembers automatically start at Influencer status.

You can only shop Anniversary Sale Early Access as a cardmember.

• July 12: Early Access for cardmembers with Icon status.
• July 14: Early Access for cardmembers with Ambassador status.
• July 16: Early Access for cardmembers with Influencer status.
• July 28: Anniversary Sale opens to the general public.

Get a Nordstrom Card to Shop Early

Of course, if you don’t have a Nordstrom card, you can apply for one online right now.

And you don’t have to wait for the card to arrive in the mail to start saving.  You can start shopping the sale as early as July 16th!

Plus, you get $60 to use at Nordy’s at a later date if you use your card the day you are approved!  Woot!

Plus Size Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Outfits

The only difference between these two outfits is the bags.

Outfit Details

A fabulous bright turquoise sweater is paired with dark denim.  What great price for a cashmere sweater!

And it comes in three additional colors.

The bootcut jeans are a long-time favorite of my readers.  They are very comfortable and stretchy but hold their shape.

I added the same ankle booties as my last #NSale outfit.   They’re a rust pointy-toed suede bootie with a stacked heel and a Western vibe.  And at a great price during the sale!]

I also added the same wool fedora.  So chic for fall!

The Scarf

I have purchased plenty of these types of inexpensive scarves from Amazon.  They’re blanket scarves, so they’re square and large. 

You can watch a video on how to style them here.

And they’re soft and typically made of acrylic.  They have the potential to shed, so you should expect that.  Washing them may help.

I recommend handwashing or washing on a gentle cycle in a laundry bag. 

Use a gentle and color-protecting laundry soap like Woolite Dark.

I also recommend spraying them down with Static Guard before wearing them.  This will help to prevent clinging to your clothing and potentially lead to less shedding.

Lipstick

Finish off your look with a bold lip, like “Orange Crepe” from YSL. 

As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here) are my favorite lipsticks. 

I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget.  But they are amazing!

They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips!  Not to mention they smell fantastic. 

Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one and this one to display them.

And I just can’t say enough great things about them!

The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks. 

While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

There is a Rouge Volupté Shine Lip Set available during the Nordstrom sale.  You get three travel-sized lipsticks for the price of one standard-sized lipstick. 

And while it is a great deal and a nice way to try out the lippies, I actually think it would be better to get one original-sized one.  Half of my joy is the packaging, I swear. 

And the travel-sized ones do not have pretty and luxurious packaging, in my opinion.

The Bags

For the first look, I opted for a Clare V. crossbody bag in a yellow snake print.  I realize this bag isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea. 

But, this is how I would wear the outfit.

For the second look, I swapped the crossbody for a classic hobo bag.
