Some plus size olive pants outfits for spring and summer.

The fuchsia pops against the olive green because these colors have a complementary relationship.

But I switched things up this time.

For the pop of fuchsia I decided on these platform slide sandals instead of a bag like my previous posts.

They’re stunning but quite pricey.  However, I found some alternatives…

Top the look with a denim jacket as needed.

As for the pants, any olive pants will do.

These first two outfit ideas include some cropped tapered linen pants.

For a different silhouette, try these wide-leg pants also in linen.

Linen Keeps You Cool

Like I said above, the plus size olive pants in the first two outfits are linen!

Linen is just a classy fabric.  Period.  It drapes in a lovely and unmistakable way.

And linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather.  Yes!

That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

But Linen Wrinkles…

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend, like these olive pants, will wrinkle less.   

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less.  But, I say, just let it go!

And I added some black and white stripes with this boatneck tee.

But, I also show this look with a plain white t-shirt if that’s your jam.

If you’re unsure about stripes, please read this post “Are horizontal stripes REALLY making you look fat?,” written by Melissa at Suger Coat It. 

She explains, “No, horizontal stripes won’t make you look fat. Only being fat makes you look fat.  And you know what, that’s okay.”

I think Melissa does a fantastic job of breaking down this outdated “rule” regarding plus sizes and stripes. 

Accessories

I chose my favorite Celine shades in classic black.

Check out these for a more affordable option.

The black sunnies and striped t-shirt tie in nicely with the black leather trim on the straw tote.

Such a chic combo!

For jewelry, my favorite Pavoi gold hoop earrings go with everything.

They’re so lightweight and come in 4 sizes.

Add a coin bracelet and stacking rings to complete the look.

Outfit 3 & 4 Details

These last two outfit ideas are the same as the first two, but I swapped the linen pants for some cropped wide-leg chinos.

Since we’re still seeing cropped wide leg pants, I thought I remind you of some of my “tips” for wearing this more “challenging” silhouette.

How to Wear Plus Size Wide Leg Cropped Pants

1. Look for a heavier fabric and a high-waist.
2. Keep your tops cropped or tucked-in.
3. A “chunky” and taller shoe is better.  Pair with platforms, wedges, block or stacked heels.
4. And don’t forget to be mindful of your proportions.
