Before I get into the details of this “plus size on a budget camo jacket outfit,” I want to prevent some anticipated feedback, so please keep these things in mind:
Plus Size on a Budget – My “Disclaimer”
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.
I just want to be upfront with a disclaimer because I received some negativity in the past. So now that we have that out of the way, let’s get into it!

Plus Size on a Budget – Outfit Details
I love this look! And I love mixing camo and leopard together. In my opinion, both are neutrals, so they easily go together. For more plus size outfit ideas with camo and leopard together, go here and here. And for more tips on mixing prints, go here.
As always, for these “on a budget” posts, I picked items that I think look more expensive than they are. Some of these items are currently on sale, so I can’t guarantee they will stay these prices. And please note that the featured plus size boyfriend jeans are clearance and “final sale,” so they cannot be returned. However, I did list some alternatives below.
This look is a little edgy and a little preppy, one of my favorite combinations! I recommend rolling up the sleeves and folding the white button down shirt’s cuffs on top of the camo jacket so the white shows for a preppy touch. You can tuck or untuck the shirt. For a trendy look, tuck in the front or half of the front and then wear a Gucci belt (clearly NOT budget-friendly, lol) or a similar much less expensive belt. Go here for the plus size Gucci belt size chart.
My Recommended Button Downs
As I mentioned in a previous post, if you are in need of a button down shirt, which I think every woman should own, I highly recommend this customizable button down shirt from eShakti. Aside from the fantastic price and amazing quality, if you select the ability to get it customized and custom sized, for less than ten bucks, you will have the best fitting garment you’ve ever had. I have ordered custom sized clothing from eShakti and was able to take all of the necessary measurements by myself. You can also choose the overall length and length of sleeve.

Alexa, I love your posts. I find it odd when someone complains about a “budget” outfit that one would think it would be a “Gucci” type budget. Clearly most of us don’t live in that realm (not for lack of dreaming..lol), but, we try and create outfits that look as good as we can make them for the budgets we have allowed ourselves for shopping. Or, re-shopping in our closets if that is the case, and often is.
You do an amazing job of showing us ways to create outfits, ways for finding clothes or parts of wardrobes for the least amount possible, and, on the off chance that out budget allows, some really amazing designer looks.
Keep up your fantastic work, and Happy New Year!
She does do a great job! Honestly, when people complain about Alexa’s budget posts, I wonder where they actually DO shop. Her most recent one contained pieces from Wal Mart. Can you by brand new clothes for any less money than at Wally World?
I never think to look at JC Penny, Alexa!
Thanks, Robin. Believe it or not, everything I mention in my “disclaimer” has been complained about. Sigh. That’s why I stopped doing Budget posts for over a year. But, I’m back at it! 🙂
Thank you, Jerry! I get far fewer complaints now that I include my “disclaimer.” You’d be amazed though! Happy New Year to you too!
I love all your posts and use them to give me ideas of what I can do with my wardrobe. They are not always age appro for me, but I still like staying with current trends. I also like the accessories/make-up suggestions. Keep keep up the good work!
Thank you, Melissa!
Wow! Thank you for this one. Way too go!
Thanks, Michelle!
I agree with Jerry, I love your outfits. Not all of them are for me, but I have a lovely collection of outfits thanks to you. Just wish you had been around 20 years ago! LOL
Thank you
Aww, thank you, Nancy!
Love your posts…. just fyi… if you’re in Canada… it’s on sale at the bay.. comes in camo and a brugendy color for $19.99… it’s from Lord and Taylor and rayon material
Thank you for the tip!
Love this outfit. I don’t always need the budget options but appreciate them when it is a casual look. The jacket looks great and so do the shoes. The purse also looks much more expensive. Thank you for the suggestions and all of your research!
Thank you, Lindsay! I love to find things that look more expensive than they are!!! 🙂
