My “Disclaimer”

I want to prevent some anticipated feedback.  So please keep these things in mind:

  • “Budget” is relative.  Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
  • You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less.  These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across.  And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed.  Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
  • Recycle & reuse.  As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.  Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks.  Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.

Outfit Details

This plus size sporty blazer outfit is the type of looks I love.

First, I love good blazer!  And I think this camel blazer, which has stretch, is a great choice.

It’s super affordable and is so versatile.

Layer the blazer over a black and white striped tee.

And add these ultra high-waisted palazzo wide leg jeans.

Accessories

Grab a red wristlet to add a pop of color.

And finish the look with some uber-trendy sneakers.

These low top sneakers look a lot like the Adidas Sambas but more affordable.

Top the look with a trucker hat and some oversized square sunglasses.

I have and love these sunnies and they look just like some Fendi shades but at a fraction of the price.

Jewelry

As for jewelry, keep things trendy and simple.

Add some sculptural gold earrings and a sculptural gold ring.

Lastly, this hot bracelet will look great.  It is so on trend and afforable.

Jewelry Care

These beauties are gold plated, so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.

Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.

Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible.  This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.

Beauty

I decided to add a bold red lip with this lipstick.

As for this perfume, I’m excited!

First, in case you missed the many times I have discussed it, I am a fan of the “on a budget” perfume brand  Dossier.

So I was thrilled to see that they now make a fragrance inspired by one of my favorite fall and winter scents:  Maison Margiela’s Replica By The Fireplace.

Dossier’s version, “Woody Chestnut” is highly rated and should be an excellent option.

Now let me try to explain this scent (bear in mind that I am terrible at this, but this site may help).

It smells like a comforting wood stove or fireplace on a cold night.  Only so much better!

I’m not even sure I want to smell like it, but I LOVE smelling it.  Like after I put it on I consistently sniff my wrists.  So good!

I even splurged and bought some of the candles when they were on sale (I know, that price tag is ridiculous).

It smells similar to Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Baccarat Rouge 540 (in my untrained nose’s opinion) but I like it better.

Anyway, if you want to try something really different without breaking the bank, try this Woody Chestnut.
