Another addition to my “plus size on a budget series!”  This time featuring two yellow stripe dress outfits.  Yes, this post has two looks!  One slightly “dressier” than the other.  But, both are great options to look casually chic all summer long.

My “Disclaimer”

I want to prevent some anticipated feedback.  So please keep these things in mind:

• “Budget” is relative.  Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
• You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less.  These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across.  And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed.  Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
• Recycle & reuse.  As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe.  Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks.  Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.

Outfit Details – Look 1

This first look is a little more “dressy.”  It’s by no means dressed up, but if you want to take a simple plus size yellow dress to the next level for a party or daytime event, this is how to do it.  And on a budget no less!

First, find a statement necklace in a complementary color.  In this case, I chose a rich lapis blue.  Remember to consult your color wheel for help.

Then I found a straw clutch with the same color as the necklace.  Of course, after I found these adorable clutches, they are nearly sold out.  So I found some other options too.

Second, add a sandal with some height like these cork wedges.  If you can’t do a high wedge, opt for a flatform.

Finish off your look with some gold bracelets and a bright lip.  I love this lipstick!  It reminds me of the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipstick but at a fraction of the price.

This second look is the more casual of the two with white sneakers and a crossbody bag.  Top with a denim jacket as needed.

Add some accessories like these white and gold hoop earrings and an anchor bracelet.  Finish things off with a bold matte lip.
