I took a preppy AF jacket to the next level in this plus size plaid blazer outfit. If you are a regular reader of this blog then you’ve heard me talk about how fashion lives in the juxtaposition of the unexpected. Style exists in the balance of the classic with the trendy. Meaning, wear a preppy ass plaid blazer with some “mom jeans” and basic ballet flats, and it’s a snore fest. Sure, it’s a “safe” choice. But, boring. So boring! Don’t be a “boring Becky.”
Pair a plaid blazer with some distressed boyfriend jeans, a trendy designer belt, and some bougie accessories and voilà! You’ve got yourself a look. Even if you don’t do distressed (my argument for), try a boyfriend jean or a super skinny jegging. Step out of your comfort zone, even a distressed flare jean would be a good choice.

Although I haven’t personally tried the Double G Gucci belts, they are still the “it” accessory. Rochelle from Beauticurve says these Gucci belts come as large as a size 20 (or 44″ waist). See the updated size chart below for choosing the correct size. The thinner Double G Gucci belts come up to a size 110, size 16. And the wider Double G Gucci belts come up to a size 120, or size 20, which is probably a better choice for jeans depending on your personal preference. So these belts are accessible to those with larger waists [and much larger wallets]!

Just bought the Jacket yesterday. I discovered your blog two weeks ago and am having a blast revamping my style. I have found a lot of the designers products on clearance at local stores. Thank you!
That’s so great to hear, Mary Lee! <3
FYI the blazer is more pink than orange so the orange t-shirt ended up clashing but it looked great with a white t-shirt.
Thanks for letting us know! I apologize, it looked totally coral/orange to me! But, I am glad to hear that you found a way to make it work.
