Three plus size plaid maxi skirt outfits for the holidays.
These outfits are perfect for holiday parties and holiday dinners no matter your climate.
I publish multiple outfit suggestions for the holidays each year…
You can check ’em all out here.
For Your Climate
And historically, I’ve included several options for those of you in warm(er) climates, called the “Southern Editions.”
But starting in 2018, I created variations of the same look: Warmest, Warmer, Warm, and the Southern Edition.
And based on responses to my Instagram stories and my recent Thanksgiving Outfit post, you want to see them again!
So essentially these are the same outfit ideas with minor details changed to accommodate whatever the weather and temperature might be in your region!
This time I just created three: warmest, warm, and the “Southern Edition.”
Plus Size Plaid Maxi Skirt Outfits
Warmest Outfit Details
This first outfit idea is meant for the coldest climate. It will keep you the warmest.
Layer a beautiful green cable knit sweater over a white collared shirt.
I am a fan of layering for warmth and to look a bit more pulled together.
Then add the star of this look: a plus size Tartan plaid maxi skirt.
Accessories
All of these looks have the same accessories starting at the top with these designer sunnies.
Or try these, which I have and look quite expensive but aren’t.
Add a black quilted convertible bag with gold chain and hardware. Or try the smaller version.
Stay chic but comfortable with some black suede wedge pumps.
I like to wear wedges, generally, but especially when you might be walking on slippery surfaces.
Jewelry
I went a little trendy with the statement earrings.
As I have been talking about for quite some time now, gold sculptural jewelry is hot!
As for the wrist stack, I included this Tory Burch watch and bangle bracelet.
And I have the featured chain bracelet, it’s great and fits my slightly-larger-than-average wrists.
Try one of the Amazon bracelets for a selection of sizes at more reasonable prices.
And lastly, a bold domed gold ring. See a similar but less expensive option here.
Perfume
I also included the infamous and almost too popular Baccarat Rouge 540 perfume by Maison Francis Kurkdjian.
If it’s over your budget, I highly recommend you try the Dossier version.
I ordered a bunch of Dossier’s “designer-inspired” scents. And so far, I love them!
Try their “Ambery Saffron,” which is inspired by MFK’s Baccarat Rouge 540.
Oh la la! An amazing luxury scent at a fraction of the price!

Warm Outfit Details
This second outfit is just like the first but without the green sweater.
You certainly want to tuck in this shirt for a polished look.
And I would wear the skirt high waisted, like an empire waist, for a more flattering silhouette.

“Southern Edition” Outfit Details
Again, this next outfit is just like the first and second, but I swapped the sweater and white shirt for a short sleeved blouse in red.
Any white, black, or green blouse will also work.
I would also tuck in the blouse for a polished look.
And I would wear the skirt high waisted, like an empire waist, for a more flattering silhouette.
