Plus Size Resort Capsule – Part 2

As Always, a Disclaimer

Let me preface this with what I regularly say when creating a capsule:  I am NOT a minimalist.   

If you’re looking for a minimalist capsule, I’m not your girl. 

I am an unapologetic clothes horse.  Every closet in my house, plus a spare bedroom, plus half of my dining room, are full of clothes!  (I need an intervention.)

Some Limitations

This cute little collection is meant to be mixed and matched for your next tropical vaycay!

Fifteen garments, including four swimsuits, three pairs of shoes, two bags, and some great accessories all come together to make a bunch of looks for a variety of vacation activities.

I leaned a bit heavily on Boden, which has sizes up to a 22.  I would prefer to feature more items that at least go to a size 24, but I was having a hard time finding resort wear.  

I will continue to add links as I come across more options.  But, in the meantime, check out the looks from this travel capsule.

Plus Size Navy Chino Shorts

As you saw in Part 1, this collection includes swimwear and dresses.

But, now we are going to talk about all of the outfit combinations for the shorts.

Start with these plus size navy blue chino shorts with a 7″ inseam.

But, if you want a longer inseam, I got you!

You can find similar shorts with inseams ranging from 7″ to 13″ below.  Or find ankle navy chinos here, full length here, and navy linen pants here.

These navy shorts will work with all of the tops in this capsule.

And you can make them look a bit more sophisticated by adding a tan belt and some low heeled slide sandals.

Grab that raffia clutch while you’re at it.

Or, you can keep things ultra casual by wearing similar looks with the flat sandals or even the sneakers.

Just grab the straw tote to complete your look.

Plus Size Green Linen Shorts

Just like the navy chino shorts, these green linen shorts will also work with all of the tops.

And if shorts aren’t your thing, try green linen pants.

Linen Keeps You Cool

Linen is just a classy fabric.  Period.  It drapes in a lovely and unmistakable way.

And linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather.  Yes!

That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

But Linen Wrinkles…

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend will wrinkle less.   

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less.  But, I say, just let it go!

These green shorts can be mixed and matched with everything just like with the navy chino shorts and even wear them with the flat sandals or even the sneakers.

Plus Size Dressed Up Shorts

You can even dress up the navy chino shorts and green linen shorts by pairing them with this navy halter top.

Make sure you add some shine to your shoulders and hell, all of you skin, with some shimmering body oil.

Of course, this is some bougie body oil, so if you’re looking for a more affordable shimmering body oil, try this one or this one.

Strapless Bra Recommendations

In case you missed this in Part 1…

When going strapless or wearing a halter, I always recommend two bras, one is strapless and the other is a multi-way bra with removable straps.

First, the Wacoal Red Carpet Strapless Bra (also, here or here) which has excellent reviews and fits up to a size 44G.

Second, the Multi-Way Boost Strapless Bra which fits up to a size 50DDD.

But, for the sake of packing light, I would go with the Multi-Way bra as you can comfortably wear it with all of the pieces.

More Beauty

Aside from the Glow Screen I mentioned in Part 1 and the shimmering body oil, I also included some more killer beauty products in this capsule.

My newest perfume obsession is KAYALI’s Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar 42.

It is very sweet.  I typically don’t like perfume this sweet, but there is something complex and sophisticated about it.

I think it’s a great scent for warm weather.

And I know I have talked about YSL lipsticks like a gazillion times, but this Candy Glaze Lip Gloss Stick is my newest favorite.

I bought it in the “Showcasing Nude” and it’s the perfect everyday lippy.

It’s a moisturizing gloss that comes in a stick.  It’s hard to explain, but certainly worth a splurge if you’re in a splurging mood.

And lastly, I want to mention my favorite scented body moisturizer: Sol de Janeiro’s Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

It smells so mother freakin’ good, you guys!  No seriously, you guys!

I included some denim shorts because they are so easy to add to any look.
