A plus size shacket and dress outfit for fall.
Have you tried the shirt-jacket or “shacket” trend yet?
This time I paired a plaid shacket with a black knit dress.
The Ruched Dress
So start with a sleeveless ruched knit dress.
If you haven’t heard, this dress is a huge hit!
I recently made a little video about it.
You can find more outfit ideas with this dress here, here, and here.
Plus, a similar version of the dress here.
If you live in a colder climate, try a similar dress with long sleeves.
Accessories
Next, add some waterproof ankle booties.
Lug soles are totally on-trend.
For the bag, I chose this sling bag that Rosey Blair swears is a great choice for plus size gals.
She rocks it and is a size 24.
Make sure you follow her on Instagram and LTK for more incredible fashion.
Top the look with a chunky beanie with 90s vibes. Love it!
Jewelry
And for jewelry, gold classics: thick hoop earrings and a cuff bracelet.
The hoop earrings featured in this look are made by PAVOI, which I’ve mentioned many times before.
You can find PAVOI on Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!
I actually own a bunch of PAVOI pieces now. I started with a couple of these thick gold hoops in the two larger sizes.
I’m quite impressed.

Jewelry Care
These are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.
Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.
Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible. This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.
Beauty
For fragrance, I chose a warm and spicy scent: Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille.
If Tom Ford is out of your budget, try Dossier’s “Powdery Tobacco.”
I recently tried several fragrances by the perfume brand, Dossier.
And so far, I love them!
Oh la la! An amazing luxury scent at a fraction of the price!
Complete the look with a deep berry matte lip in “Highway to Hell” or try this matte lippy in “Voyager”

Or go with some athleisure vibes by wearing you favorite sneakers.
Try these platform kicks. And I recommend wearing them with no-show socks.

I just can’t with the shacket I guess. Waiting for this trend to pass. I’m all for people wearing what they like and makes them feel good, but for me I feel like they add 20 pounds and just aren’t flattering. Even when you balance the outfit by pairing the shacket with a slimmer silhouette of a bodycon dress or leggings, it’s just not a great look for me. I go back and forth with feeling like “slimming” shouldn’t be the goal but I just know when something flatters my body and when it doesn’t.
I absolutely love this outfit. I can imagine wanting to dress up for a get together, but wanting to be able to put something cozy on during the drive or if my arms get chilly without wearing a stuffy fancy jacket. The look with the booties were best imo. Thanks for the dressy casual idea.
