Two plus size shacket outfits for my “plus size on a budget series!”
These are super easy casual outfits for fall. And all on a budget!
Plus Size on a Budget – Shacket Outfits
My “Disclaimer”
I want to prevent some anticipated feedback. So please keep these things in mind:
- “Budget” is relative. Some people easily spend $300 on sunglasses, while other people allocate $300 for their annual clothing budget.
- You may be able to find these items elsewhere for less. These are just some “budget-friendly” finds I have come across. And I typically don’t link to clearance items because they sell out and then people are disappointed. Also, I have no way of linking to thrift stores, but obviously, if you want to check out your local thrift stores, I think that is a great idea!
- Recycle & reuse. As with all of my posts, I hope that you can use the pieces you already have in your wardrobe. Additionally, I assume that you can reuse all of the pieces below in other combinations with things in your closet to create a variety of looks. Meaning, I think it is unfair to judge the expense of one outfit as though that is the only way to wear the pieces.
Outfit 1 Details
Take your favorite jeans or grab these for 23 bucks and top with a white tee and plaid shacket.
This is an easy combination for looking on-trend.
I added these hiker booties which look a lot like these from Tory Burch that I featured in this post.
But they are wayyyy more affordable.
This bucket bag also looks way more than it’s price tag.
This is a more sophisticated take on 90s vibes, so add a deep brown shade of lipstick to complete the look.

This second look is the same as the first but with a corduroy shacket. Love it!
I went with the same accessories including these sunglasses which look a lot like Ray-Ban’s Erika, but at a fraction of the price.
Add some simple gold hoop earrings, a layered monogram necklace, and a stack of delicate bracelets.

I love the way you put things together. I have questions about reusing things. This probably a silly question, but how bad is ìt to wear linen stuff after Labor Day?
Hi Michelle,
Thank you! I think we have done away with a lot of the “rules.” As long as it’s appropriate for the [warm] weather, I think linen stuff is fine.
There’s always Indian Summers. Nice to have options for when we get an unexpected warm day 😉
Hey Alexa!
How would you wear the shirt and shacket? Would you tuck the t shirt in, in the front? Or not at all? I assume the shacket would be worn open?
