Looking for plus size spring dresses? Whether you are looking for a cute dress for a specific event, like a graduation or Easter, or to freshen up your work wardrobe, Torrid has you covered! I was really impressed with their selection of more than 200 dresses. And Torrid’s dresses are available in sizes 10 – 30. Plus, many of their maxi dresses come in two lengths: regular and short, for those 5’4” and under.
Even better, you can now see many of their dresses modeled on different sizes. Under the main image, look for “Select Fit Model,” to see the dress on sizes: 1 (14 – 16), 2 (18 – 20), and 4 (26). I really hope that Torrid expands these fit models to include more sizes as I think this is a really helpful feature.
So, Torrid asked me to create a post with a few looks featuring their spring dresses. I have to admit, I was a little overwhelmed when trying to pick. So many dresses! But, I really like the choices I made: an olive shirt dress, a gingham midi dress, and a classic faux wrap style in a floral print. Check them out:

This first look with an olive shirt dress is great for any casual outing and even casual Fridays at the office. Side note: I am calling this dress a “shirt dress,” but it actually has a slightly fuller skirt than a traditional “shirt dress,” which I am a huge fan of. It’s very flattering, especially given the placement of the tie waist. As I have discussed in my “Styling Tips for Plus Size Apple Shapes” post, an empire waist (just under the bust) is a great silhouette for those of us with larger tummies. [Two hands up emoji]
While these amazing cut out peep toed booties, which literally took my breath away at first sight, will make you an instant fashion killa, you can also switch up the shoes for different looks. For example, a simple flat gladiator sandal totally switches up the vibe to an easy boho type thing. Then swap the aviators for oversized sunglasses. Now you’re ready for a music festy or just a farmer’s market.

This second look features a plus size gingham midi dress. I really dig the retro vibes. And while any black sandal would work, I have to be a bit extra and add a pop of red in an espadrille wedge sandal. Awesomely, Torrid has a similar sandal in wide width. I added some sunnies that also have a retro vibe but are totally “in” right now. Amazing how everything comes back around! A basket bucket bag finishes off the look. Oh, and don’t forget a red lip and some old Hollywood curls!

This last outfit is great for your 9 – 5. While I added a longer cardigan, a cropped shrug would also be cute. And if you are concerned about coverage, you can always wear a cami under the dress. Add your favorite work tote and a sensible pump. To wear this dress to a party, like a baby shower or a graduation party, choose a clutch and a heeled sandal to dress things up a bit. Then add some trendy statement earrings and you’re party-ready.
