Plus Size Spring Work Capsule 2025 – Part 1

As Always, a Disclaimer

Let me preface this with what I regularly say when creating a capsule:  I am NOT a minimalist.   

If you’re looking for a minimalist capsule, I’m not your girl. 

I am an unapologetic clothes horse. 

Every closet in my house, plus a spare bedroom, plus half of my dining room, is full of clothes!  (I need an intervention.)

So this is a collection of ‘mix and match’ outfit ideas for early spring and summer work wear.

Dress codes & Suiting

You may have noticed that I included two suits: a red suit (jacket, pants) and a pink suit (well, a pink tweed jacket and coordinating pink ankle pants).

Typically suits are required for professional dress codes, but you can certainly wear them to nearly any office and look great.

And of course, you can choose to wear coordinating jackets or not.

These outfits will look great without the third piece. It’s totally up to you!

And I love the colors of these fun suits!

Plus Size Red Suit Outfits

It is likely obvious that. you can wear this red suit in more ways than demonstrated above.

But, these are some ideas to get you started.

You can also wear the red wide leg trousers with most of the pieces in this capsule.

I love pairing hot pink with bright red!

This plus size pink satin top is a great choice for this collection.

Add a bold red lip when you wanna add a bit of excitement.

By the way, my favorite affordable neutral red liquid lipstick is “Always Red” from Sephora brand.

I also like these monochromatic looks with a red blouse.

Switch it up with a tan belt and tan flats.

Top the look with a classic trench as needed.

Dress codes & Sandals

The second issue I know will be discussed is: where are the sandals?

After all, it is about to be spring!

When it comes to sandals, let me start with saying something no one likes: sandals always look less professional than a closed-toe flat or heel.

In fact, some might argue that open-toes and sandals are inappropriate for work, especially in a business casual or professional setting.

But every organization has a dress code so I’d use that as the guide.

Some workplaces don’t allow open-toed shoes.  And sometimes it’s about safety.

I’ve worked at places where we had to wear “shoes you can run in.”

Yes, I have had MANY interesting jobs.  And yes, I’ve heard the phrase “we’ve got a runner” in the workplace.  Lol.

So for this post, I’ll be showing flats.

Tieks & My Wide Feet

I was recently gifted a pair of Tieks.

I have wide width feet and typically wear a size 7.5W in ballet flats.

The size 8 fit!  And they are cute and comfortable!

You can see a little about them here.

For these looks, I chose the color “Chestnut.”

Although I show them here as a complete suit, obviously, the red jacket is optional.  

I love this black square neck ponte knit top with the gold statement necklace, floral scarf, and leopard print scarf.

You can also top with the trench coat.  To be clear, a neutral trench coat goes with everything! 

Any and all of the scarves will work with these neutral tops…

Or try a leopard blouse…

Or go with this neutral camel cardigan.

Wear it alone or with a scarf.

I love the way the stripe of red in the Burberry tote bag works with the red wide leg trousers.

Plus Size Pink Suit Outfits

This plus size pink suit consists of a pink tweed double-breasted jacket (so cute with jeans too!) and coordinating pink ankle pants.

I like the pink suit with all of the basic tops, including the pink satin blouse and red blouse.

Even though I show them above as a complete suit, obviously, the pink tweed jacket is optional.  

Here are some great ways to wear the hot pink ankle pants.

With the black ponte knit top, the black flats or zebra kitten heels look great.

Same with the plus size pink satin blouse.

But, I do not recommend mixing the leopard scarf with the zebra printed kitten heels.

I just don’t like mixing animal prints but up to you, of course.

As I mentioned above, I LOVE hot pink and fiery red together.

Lancome Perfume

As for the perfume, Lancôme’s “La Vie Est Belle” Eau de Parfum has become a recent favorite.

I got it on deal during the last Prime Day event.

It’s a great scent for fall and winter with notes of Iris, Earthy Patchouli, Warm Vanilla & Spun Sugar.

It’s feminine but strong. 

But, if it’s over your budget or you just want to try it “guilt free,” perhaps try Dossier’s “Gourmand Orange Blossom.”

As I have mentioned many times, I have tried several of Dossier’s scents and think they are fantastic for a fraction of the price.
