I recently posted a mixed prints work outfit using the principles I outlined in my “Mixing Prints and Patterns” post from my Style 101 content.  So long story short, I inspired myself [she says humbly] to try to mix things up again, but this time dialing back the complexity.  So this plus size striped skirt outfit is easy for anyone to wear but is still really interesting.

First off, this skirt is a showstopper!  A striped pleated chiffon midi length skirt in bold colors.  It is available in sizes 1X – 3X.  In case you need a smaller size, it is also available in straight sizes up to a 18 (16W) here.

Make it Interesting

While you could easily dress up this skirt, I chose to make it a little more casual by pairing it with a denim shirt.  If you’ve been a reader for awhile, you have certainly heard me say: “fashion lives in these juxtapositions.”  Chiffon and denim is an interesting combination, amirite?!?

And I had to turn up the volume a little more, so I chose to throw in a leopard print clutch, which, as I have said, is basically a neutral.  And then add some pops of red in the statement earrings and a block heel square toe pump.  And if you can’t, or don’t want to, do a heel, these flats are the exact same “hot sauce” color.
