For those of you who haven’t heard of the “coastal grandmother” trend, it’s easy linen, button-down shirts, cotton sweaters, neutral colors, and classic clean pieces.

Think of Diane Keaton’s wardrobe in “Something’s Gotta Give” or Grace Hanson’s outfits in “Grace and Frankie.”

Do you want to try this trend?  You don’t need to be an actual grandmother or have a house in the Hamptons to rock this aesthetic.

Linen is just a classy fabric.  Period.  It drapes in a lovely and unmistakable way.

And linen is a natural fiber known for keeping you cool in hot weather.  Yes!

That’s because linen breathes and absorbs moisture.

But Linen Wrinkles…

Linen might seem difficult to deal with, but it’s actually quite easy.  And it’s machine washable! 

As I’ve said, people often ask me how to keep their linen clothes from wrinkling.

For one, linen is always going to wrinkle.  Always. 

And really, that is part of “the look.”  You know, that rich bougie b!tch look that I love so much!

Two, a linen-blend, will wrinkle less.   

And three, if you iron with starch, linen will wrinkle slightly less. 

But, I say, just let it go!

With this clean base of a white tee and linen pants, opt for some sensible flat tan sandals.

Grab a straw tote bag.  I love this one with gold studs.  It also comes in a larger size.

Protect yourself from the sun with these reasonably priced square sunglasses and a straw boater hat.

As for jewelry, adorn the wrists with some classic gold chain and beaded bracelets.

Top with a mother of pearl and gold stud earring.

And lastly, add my favorite gold ring.
