A plus size summer vacation outfit for the beach, boardwalk, or ship deck!
Plus Size Summer Vacation Outfit

My Disclaimer
And here is my usual disclaimer.
As I’ve said, these “Straight Size to Plus Size” posts are some of my most popular, but I also get complaints that the “models” in the images aren’t “plus sized.”
So I just wanted to give a little background of why I do these types of posts:
We are all inundated every day by images of thin celebrities, models, and bloggers sporting the “latest looks,” i.e. clothing that doesn’t come in our size.
So I try to take these “unattainable” images and prove that, in fact, with some effort, plus size women can put these hot looks together.
They are attainable!
And I try to take the effort, i.e. searching everywhere for the pieces, out of the equation.
So as always, my main goal is to inspire and empower.
Ok, now back to the outfit idea!
Outfit Details
The plus size leopard palazzo pants are the star here.
I love them! Unfortunately, the are only available to a size 2X.
As you may know, I make it a policy that all of the featured clothing go to at least a size 24.
But, I had to make an exception.
That said, I found some alternatives for you, including leopard maxi skirts.
Plus Size Leopard Pants & Skirts
As I’ve said many times, leopard is a neutral.
So practically any top will work. Please see this post and this post for more ideas.
Accessories
I attempted to find accessories similar to the “straight size” outfit.
Starting with a straw rancher hat.
By the way, you might remember this hat from this post.
I think the sunglasses are similar to these tortoise aviators from Quay.
They come in two sizes: the 52mm “mini” and the original 56mm.
For sandals, the straight size woman looks to be wearing the Valentino Rockstud slides.
Not only are the Rockstuds hella expensive, but they aren’t even as cute as these Steve Madden studded sandals.
The Bag
The cloud bag is still trending. I have also heard it called a “dumpling bag.”
You can carry it as a clutch or with a crossbody strap.
Bottega Veneta is still the “it” designer for bags, everyone has been influenced by their “pouch” bag.
And considering its price tag, it’s nice to see more options like this one from Mansur Gavriel.
But don’t fret, you can also find some faux leather options like this one on Amazon.
The Jewelry
For the jewelry, I kept things very simple.
First some gold huggie hoops from Pavoi.
I know you have heard me talk about Pavoi a lot, but they are so great for the affordable prices!
The delicate bracelets featured in this look are made by Mevecco, which I’ve mentioned many times before.
You can find Mevecco on Amazon, and must say the quality is really great for the prices!
I actually own a bunch of Mevecco bracelets now, including this turquoise bracelet, paperclip bracelet, and cable bracelet.
I’m quite impressed.
By the way, you can check out my Amazon store and follow me on Amazon!
Jewelry Care
These are inexpensive plated pieces so you might need to “baby” them for longevity.
Avoid the obvious: showers, pools, spraying your wrist with perfume while wearing them.
Store them in air-tight plastic bags, if possible. This will keep the plating from damage and tarnishing.
Beauty
And last but not least, I added my favorite tinted lip balm and my favorite bronzer.
This buttery bronzer has a nice neutral undertone and works will with my light skin tone.
It also has a nice glow to it, but don’t worry, it’s not glittery or sparkly.
Unfortunately this bronzer doesn’t come in deeper shades.
So, if you have a deeper complexion, try this bronzer instead.
And if you’re looking for a good “drugstore” bronzer, the Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer is it. Hands down.
It’s an amazing formula and comes in a bunch of shades for under 10 bucks!
Oh and it smells like the beach!
