Today I give you the first part of a plus size summer work capsule wardrobe.
My last plus size work capsule was so popular and I received so many requests for a summer version that I had to create another!
Also, in case you missed it, I also posted a plus size summer work capsule last year.
Bright and fun colors for summer, this capsule is anything but boring!
Many of these items come from Talbots. They have so many fantastic coordinating pieces, I couldn’t resist.
But, as you’ll see, there are more pieces and outfit ideas to come…
Make sure you’ve subscribed so you don’t miss out!
Look 1
The first look features a white cable knit sleeveless sweater. Such a classic piece.
Add some hot coral ankle pants. Top with a blue sweater blazer as needed.
Tie the look together with a lightweight scarf.
I will feature more scarves in the next post. I found many alternatives that will work well!
Also, go here for a great video on ways to wear a scarf.
As always, smaller and skinny scarves can be worn tied around the neck, head as a headband, ponytail, wrist, or handbag strap.
So many ways to rock these!
Blue Shoes
Any nude, gray, or taupe shoe will do but I love these coordinating open-toe d’Orsay flats!
I found some other options in the same color in case you need closed-toe shoes at your office.
Check out my links below for even more options, including wide width.
Lipstick
Finish off your look with a bold coral lip, like “Corail Marrakech” from YSL.
As I’ve said, the Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-in-Stick Lipsticks (or here) are my favorite lipsticks.
I readily admit they are bougie AF and totally break the budget. But they are amazing!
They’re 65% oil and feel amazing on the lips! Not to mention they smell fantastic.
Plus, the packaging is so gorgeous that I actually bought a lipstick holder, like this one, to display them.
And I just can’t say enough great things about them!
The closest lippies I have found at more reasonable prices are L’Oreal’s Colour Riche Shine Lipstick and Sephora’s Rouge Lacquer Lipsticks.
While both are similar, they aren’t even close to the decadence of the YSL ones.

Look 2
And Look 2 is just Look 1 without the sweater blazer. As you can see, the outfit still works!
I simply wanted to demonstrate that you will look very put together in warm weather.
Look 3
This third look is just the same as Look 1 only I swapped out the coral ankle pants for some white capris.
Based on the reviews, you may need to size up in these capris.
Pro-tip: wear nude undergarments, not white, with white pants to prevent panty lines.
For lined pants or petite sizing, see these.
And I still love the blue shoes with this look, but if you find them too “matchy matchy,” opt for some nude or white flats.

Look 4
The fourth look is just like the third but once again, I wanted to demonstrate that this outfit still works without the sweater blazer.
White on white is so chic. Add some pops of color in the shoes or accessories to really make a statement.
Once again, I am so impressed with Talbots’ coordinated pieces. I couldn’t pass up including this large blue dot sleeveless blouse.
And again, if you find this look too “matchy matchy,” opt for some nude or white flats.
But, personally, I am loving all of the coordinating pieces!

Look 6
The sixth look again shows a jacket-less outfit works and is perfect for hot weather. I still love the bright coral lip!
Look 7
For an additional look, swap the coral ankle pants for some white capris. This combination works beautifully!

Look 8
Perfect for transitional weather during the spring, a long sleeve paisley button-down shirt can be worn alone (see look 9) or layered under the sweater blazer.

Look 9
This long sleeve paisley button-down shirt is 100% cotton, making it a great choice for warm days. Just roll up the sleeves, exposing striped details.
Look 10
Looks 10 and 11 are the same ideas as Looks 8 and 9, just with the coral ankle pants.

Look 12
For Looks 12 and 13, I introduce another paisley button-down, but this one is sleeveless. Great for hot weather!
I chose some gold flats, but again, some nude or white flats will work perfectly.

I recently found your blog and I LOVE this post. Especially since you’ve chosen Talbots. Have you ever thought about a JJILL or Soft
Surroundings capsule?
I love these options – so beautiful! Can you tell me though if you are to choose the cardigan for the blazer what color lands end sweater would you choose? I didn’t see it.
Great job!
So sorry it took me so long to respond! As for the cardigan color- “true blue.”
Thanks!
Really like the clever use of colour opposites here. Have you done any winter work capsules please? We’re on the other side of the world and approaching winter. Thanks!
