I received numerous requests for this post: a plus size summer work capsule.
This collection of business casual outfits will take you from summer into the fall.
Ten pieces, two pairs of shoes, and accessories give you more than twenty outfit options.
Keep in mind you can always add and trade accessories for even more looks!
Color Story
You may have noticed that I kept things neutral except for some teal, aqua, and hot pink. All of which go well with the neutrals: navy, tan, and white.
I steered clear of black as that can be tricky with navy. Although I love black and dark blues together, if the navy is too dark and similar to black it doesn’t work. It ends up looking like a hit and a miss. But, I think grey could be a nice addition to this collection.
Accessories
I kept the accessories simple but figure you can customize the looks with what you have on hand.
Grab your favorite tan work tote or check out this one. A genuine leather tote is a great investment for work. It will last forever.
Be sure to get one large enough that you can toss in everything you need. Think cosmetic bag, laptop, folding flats, or a lunch bag.
I also included a leopard belt, which I think adds a lot to many of the outfits. If you don’t have one, I linked to several below.
Shoes
Although this is a capsule wardrobe for summer, you might notice the absence of sandals.
Sandals aren’t exactly professional and are not technically a part of a business casual dress code.
But, you might be able to get away with them at more lax offices.
So I chose some cute flats instead. And the best news is you can wear them year-round!

Such pretty colors for spring and summer! Plus, you chose many pieces that would easily transition into autumn. For example, I’d wear the printed pants with a cozy burgundy cowl-neck sweater, and the tan cropped pants with mid-calf snake print or leopard print boots and a fitted cream long-sleeve cashmere top.
