Plus Size Universal Standard for J. Crew Dress

In case you haven’t heard, J. Crew teamed up with Universal Standard to create a size-inclusive line that goes from size XXS to size 5X or 32.  You can also purchase the collection at NordstromUniversal Standard is a brand I mentioned in my 10 Plus Size Brands to Know post last year.  They have a great collection of basics and fashion-forward clothes in sizes 6 – 32.  And as a long time fan of J.     1. It is actually more a-line than you’d think if you look at it on the models. I think it is probably more flattering than a typical drop-waist dress. Just my opinion.

  1. Meh. It’s great to see J. Crew actually partner with a company that figured out extended sizing, because their own formulas for extended sizes were widely thought to be a mess. I’m a huge Universal Standard fan, and this collaboration merges two very different styles. Sometimes it works, other times not. I didn’t see a lot that particularly wow’d me. All the bows on the sleeves business just adds volume. A lovely day dress, offered only in a horizontal stripe. I get it, we plus size girls are supposed to be breaking rules, but we still are looking for clothes that are flattering.

  2. I thought the collection was a bit limited and the pieces not as inter-exchangeable as I would have liked. The quality looked very good and the pieces were basic, which is needed.

    All in all, it would be nice if they could expand a bit.
