Looking to style a plus size white trench coat this spring?  If you are a regular reader of this blog, then you’ll know I love a good trench.  Aside from a great light layer for spring to wear over dresses or professional outfits, a trench can make any outfit chic and can easily transition from day to night.  The trench is a staple that belongs in every wardrobe.  Side note: did you see that gorgeous City Chic trench in my plus size work capsule wardrobe series?  I die!  So yeah, I am a fan trench coats!

But, what I love about this particular trench is it is a chic off-white color with a large draped collar and a casual tie belt.  This isn’t an uptight trench (yes, those exist! 😉 ).  It is an easy, chic, modern take on a classic piece.  And that is why it lends itself so nicely to casual looks with jeans.  I styled this plus size white trench coat two ways.  More details below.

Plus Size White Trench Coat

In this first plus size outfit, the white trench elevates everyday basics, like jeans and a tank, to the next level.  So if you’re running out the door with no time to put together an outfit, throw a chic trench over some basics and violà!  You’ve got a “look.”  Now don’t get me wrong, the accessories in this outfit are some next level “ish.”

First, let’s talk about these Gucci sunglasses that I want to be buried in.  Oversized tortoiseshell frames with Gucci red and green stripes and studded embellishments on the arms.  I would have to be dead to be wearing them with this price tag!  Take note that they are priced differently at each retailer I linked to below.  But, I did find them here for more than half price!  So if you love them like I do and can actually afford them, please buy them, hold them close to your heart, and then send them to me.  Seriously.  I don’t like having to live vicariously!  I also linked some less expensive and “sane” alternatives below.

And if those sunglasses aren’t bougie enough, this Double G Gucci belt takes it there.  These pricey designer belts are still the “it” accessory.  Although I haven’t tried them, Rochelle from Beauticurve says these Gucci belts come as large as a size 20 (or 44″ waist).  So they are accessible to those with larger waists and much larger wallets.

And lastly, the shoes!  If you really wanted to be extra, here are similar “red bottoms” that leave me breathless.  But, I think these Kristin Cavallari studded mules are pretty sweet!  Btw, remember Kristin Cavallari from Laguna Beach and The Hills?  Apparently the reality star got rid of Justin Bobby and started a fashion line.  Who knew?  And I think F21’s studded mules are absolutely amazing for twenty-eight bucks!  I listed even more options, including wide width, below.

This second plus size white trench coat outfit dresses things up just a little bit that you could easily wear it during the day or for a casual night outing.  I started by swapping the basic tank for a softly metallic champagne batwing top, available in sizes 6 – 28.  Then I added a couple of glamorous accessories, like these pavé tassel earrings, a pavé bracelet, and of course the “to die for” Gucci sunnies.

But my greatest find in this look is the Chloé handbag that I keep seeing everywhere.  It can be worn as a crossbody, shoulder bag, or clutch hanging from the “bracelet” over the wrist or arm.
