Two plus size winter work dresses styled six ways, including two outfit ideas for warmer climates or transitioning into spring.
Winter is officially here and some of y’all are heading out to offices and classrooms.
While I am sitting at home in my leggings [not to rub it in], I thought I’d help show you how to dress nicely while staying warm.
And all on a budget!
All of these looks are from Walmart.
Don’t forget you get free 2-day shipping and returns for purchases over $35 on items sold and shipped by Walmart.com. Yessss!
Plus Sizes at Walmart
As I’ve said, Walmart offers a great selection of plus sizes, so make sure you check out their new arrivals!
Walmart’s Terra & Sky is a great brand for basics and cute trendy pieces.
The plus size eggplant purple faux wrap dress and swing dress featured in these looks are made by Terra & Sky.
Terra & Sky offers sizes 14W – 26W, with select pieces up to a 5X or 32W/34W.
Both of these dresses are available up to a size 5X.
Looks 1 & 2 Details
As you may have noticed, Look 1 and 2 are nearly the same. The main difference is Look 1 features the faux wrap dress, while Look 2 includes the swing dress.
The accessories are all the same except I didn’t include the Tortoise Y-necklace in Look 2.
It’s all personal preference though, as always!
Both of the outfit ideas include a camel wrap coat. Gorgeous. And note how these colors “pop” next to each other.
Remember complementary color schemes?
The leopard bag is just stunning! It is larger than the average tote bag, but still completely appropriate for carrying all of your work essentials.
If you’re looking for something smaller, I included links to similar smaller totes below.
And of course, I included an eye-catching plaid scarf.
If you want tips on mixing prints, see this post and this IGTV video.
And since I know people will ask, when wearing a cognac boot with these, I would choose “dark berry” or “dark coffee” for tights.
I would steer clear of black tights with the cognac boots. Again, this is a personal preference.

This third outfit idea is great for warmer climates and transitional seasons.
I also feel like this would be a great outfit for a teacher.
The same purple plus size swing dress is paired with a denim shirt jacket, currently trending and called the “shacket.”
Side note: see more plus size “shacket” outfit ideas here, here, and here.
I added some boho-ish accessories like a trendy rancher hat, hobo bag, and filigree earrings.

The fourth look is also for warmer climates and transitional seasons.
And also a great choice for a teacher.
The same purple plus size swing dress is paired with the same denim shirt jacket.
But this time the boho-ish accessories I chose are black. I just wanted to show another variation.

Rancher Hat (less $ similar, less $ similar)
Black Aviator Sunglasses (less $ similar)
Wedge Peep Toe Bootie (less $ similar)
Looks 5 & 6 Details
These last 2 outfit ideas are quite similar to the first two.
However, this time I chose a plum purple coat. Because- why not?
And I added black accessories and black wide calf boots. Switch it up!
And this time, go with black tights as needed.
