This is the second post in a series of posts featuring a plus size work capsule wardrobe. I put together a collection of work clothes from City Chic that you can mix and match to create a lot of outfits. Looking good at work has never been so easy! You might want to start with Plus Size Work Capsule Wardrobe – Part I. Over the course of this series, you’ll see fourteen different looks that are perfect for the office.
In this post’s plus size outfits, I chose to include these plus size slim pants. I purchased a pair to tryout for you guys. I’ve concluded that if you’re looking for a modern skinny pant that you can wear to the office and look professional in, but also be super comfortable in, these babies are for you! The first thing you’ll notice is the stretch! So stretchy! But they look professional because the fabric is textured and light weight and they have sleek seems down the front of the legs. Admittedly I haven’t washed mine yet, but from my experience, this type of fabric will do quite well when laid out to dry and won’t require ironing (The care instructions say “cool iron on reverse side,” but I doubt that will be necessary). So no ironing! Can I get an amen!?!?
Now before anyone says anything about including two black tote bags, let me just say, I know I’m being extra. I couldn’t help myself. The beautiful quilted tote is so luxe and feminine. Whereas the plain tote is just an everyday basic that every working woman should have. Do I think you need two black totes? Absolutely not! Do I think carrying a fancy quilted leather tote makes you feel like a bad ass boss b!tch? Um, yes. Yes, I do. Haha.

Wow! What a great style sense you have. Some of these pieces I have, but some, like the black slim pants, are on my To Definitely Buy List. Thanks again, Alexa, for making me stylish and making my life easier.
Thanks, Aldona! 🙂
Sure wish those pants came in tall. Any chance you know of someplace to buy a similar pair in a tall size?
Hi Lisa,
I would try these: https://rstyle.me/n/c2rfp4cau7p
Why when you 15+ dresses there is never link to the dresses?
Hi Lisa,
I’m not sure that I understand your question. The dress that was part of this capsule collection was styled (and linked) in Part I And you can find that dress here. I’m sorry that wasn’t clear. Please let me know if I can be of any further help. Thanks!
Hi Alexa,
I am so impressed with this entire capsule wardrobe series you’ve put together. Heaven knows this is what I need in my life. However, I have a question, are the bell sleeves on the coral lace and print tops going to “bunch up” and bulge when I wear them under the cardigan?
A side note….. I appreciate that you list sources for lower healed shoes. Since breaking my ankle last summer, my surgeon has advised I wear a lower heal shoe. Buh,bye 4 inch heals.
Thanks,
Annie
Hi Annie!
Thank you! 🙂
My theory is that because the cardigan has slightly shorter sleeves (3/4 length) than the bell sleeve tops (7/8 length) that part of the “bell” will peek out from the cardis and look like a ruffle. I like this idea but I realize that it might not appeal to everyone.
And I understand- I sprained both of my ankles and also fractured one. They have never been the same. High heels are no longer a possibility for me. 🙁
Love this! So happy to find your site. I love that you offer options with different price ranges, low heels or flats, etc. You thought of everything! Honestly, your site is like having my own personal shopper.
Thank you, Alisa!
