I came across this straight size outfit on Rachel Moore of Pinteresting Plans’ Instagram.
If you aren’t familiar, you are going to want to check out her blog at pinterestingplans.com and follow her on Insta.
She came up with this look for date night, but also suggests it for business casual.
And I agree, with a few modifications, you could wear this to the office this summer!

My Disclaimer
As I’ve said, these “Straight Size to Plus Size” posts are some of my most popular, but I also get complaints that the “models” in the images aren’t plus sized.
So I just wanted to give a little background of why I do these types of posts: We are all inundated everyday by images of thin celebrities, models, and bloggers sporting the “latest looks,” i.e. clothing that doesn’t come in our size.
So I try to take these “unattainable” images and prove that, in fact, with some effort, plus size women can put these hot looks together. They are attainable!
And I try to take the effort, i.e. searching everywhere for the pieces, out of the equation. So as always, my main goal is to inspire and empower.
Some Details
I found most everything to create this plus size version pretty easily. I’d like to think that means the industry is making strides!
Everything is nearly the same, except I swapped her choker layered necklace for this layered chain necklace.
By the way, I have and love the necklace!

FYI… I have the clutch in natural and it has a bit of an odor. I let it air outside and it’s a little better.
Thanks for the feedback, Shari. Jute can have an odor but it should fade with time.
I really like the straight size to plus size posts. Like you said we have many images of straight sized models and few plus sized. Your effort tracking down the plus sized versions of the clothes featured is appreciated and shows me we can have that look if we want it! Thanks for these posts.
Thanks! I really enjoy working on these posts too!
I actually love these posts. There are many outfits that I wouldn’t consider trying because they’re on straight size models, and I don’t feel like they would look good on me. However, your posts give me the courage to try these things and I’ve been pleasantly surprised on several occasions. It also helps to be able to find these pieces, and saves me a lot of time when I really like it outfit. Thanks for all the hard work!
Oh Melissa, that’s so wonderful to hear!!! You’re welcome. 🙂
I just bought these joggers today. They are so comfortable! Love them!
I bought the joggers (so cute) and the tank but I had to return it. It was basically a crop top on me. I was so sad about it because it was so cute! I’m long waisted with short legs (30″ inseam) – I’m 5’7″. Do you have any other ideas for a top to pair with these? Thanks Alexa and I love these posts too. All of your posts are great. I appreciate all of your hard work on these! ?
Hi Celia,
Sorry to hear that the top didn’t work for you. I think any cute tank or cami could work. I think this one is so cute, but maybe not long enough for you? Maybe something with lace or just a swing cami? Both are 30″ from the shoulder.
