My last post with a Meghan Markle inspired look went over so well that I decided to try it again! 

Ms. Markle has been seen in a couple of tonal outfits featuring a leather skirt. So I decided to try to recreate a similar plus size look with one of these Spanx faux leather skirts.

As I’ve said, these “Straight Size to Plus Size” posts are some of my most popular, but I also get complaints that the “models” in the images aren’t plus sized.  

I just wanted to give a little background of why I do these types of posts: We are all inundated everyday by images of thin celebrities, models, and bloggers sporting the “latest looks,” i.e. clothing that doesn’t come in our size.

So I try to take these “unattainable” images and prove that, in fact, with some effort, plus size women can put these hot looks together.  They are attainable!  

And I try to take the effort, i.e. searching everywhere for the pieces, out of the equation.  So as always, my main goal is to inspire and empower.

Outfit Details

I decided to recreate this look in a brick red color. 

So for this look I chose a brick red Spanx faux leather skirt and a coordinating brick red blouse. 

By the way, you should probably size up in the faux leather skirt (fits like the faux leather leggings). 

As for the coat, much like my last Meghan Markle post, it was the most challenging to find.  I chose a stadium coat in an oatmeal color.  Her coat was actually more of a bone color and coordinated with her Stuart Weitzman pumps.

Ultimately I chose a warmer sandy nude color pump because it works better with warmth of the brick tones.  Also, it was easier to find those shades in wide widths and lower prices.  I also found some lower heeled options as well.
